A Fair Isle hat kit suitable for Beginners in colour work and knitting in the round.
Using yarn spun from the fleece of the world famous Romney Marsh sheep*, and dyed using plants grown in our Folkestone dye garden, this hat is as local as it gets!
Sized: Small, Medium & Large to fit teens, adult women & men. This is a close fitting cap which stretches to fit.
Level: Confident Beginner/Intermediate. Skills needed are cast on, knitting in the round, stocking stitch, simple increases & decreases, and simple colourwork.
The Kit includes 50g Romney DK in the main colour and 3 x 10g mini skeins of Romney DK in the contrast colours*. These are enough to make one hat in your chosen size, plus a printed pattern, care instructions and two original design handmade cat stitch markers in a randomly selected colour. The kit is presented in a smart Kraft pillow box with a display window.
You will need to add 3.5mm & 4mm dpn's or circular knitting needles, a large sewing needle & a pompom maker (optional) to complete the hat.

Lagoon - Pale Indigo Blue with Madder Pink, Turmeric & Cochineal Orange & Onion Gold *
Brownie - Black Tea Brown with Indigo Blue, Undyed Cream & Onion Gold *
* Note: alternative colourway kits marked with an asterisk may contain small amounts of wool made from a blend of British sheep breeds instead of Pure Romney. Cochineal, turmeric & indigo are imported dyestuffs not grown or foraged locally.
