Day 14  

Dye colour: Woad blue. A warm pale blue made from woad plants grown in my dye garden. This is the same 'weed' that ancient Celt & Pict warriors famously painted their faces blue with. Queen Elizabeth I hated the dye because of its strong cabbagey scent and banned it's production within 5 miles of any palace!     

Knitting Pattern: Victorian Zig-Zag Lace. A classic Shetland Lace motif. Join today's yarn & follow the charted pattern for 18 rows.  

Row 237: RS. Sl 1, k2 tog, yo. Slip stitch marker, knit to 3 before end, slip stitch marker, knit 3. Turn work (59 sts)     

Row 238: WS. Sl 1, k2 tog, yo. Slip stitch marker, p2, * p3, yo, ssk, p3 *. Repeat from * to * 5 more times. Then p3, slip stitch marker, knit 3. Turn work (59 sts).
