25 Days of Lace Scarf Knitting Pattern Digital Download

25 Days of Lace is a gentle, day-by-day journey into lace knitting—perfect for building 
confidence, exploring new stitches, and learning how to read lace charts in manageable, 
joyful bites. The pattern is split into 25 parts, as the original K-A-L format had one part for 
each day leading up to and including Christmas, and each section highlights a different lace technique to keep things fresh and inspiring.

Drawing on traditional Shetland lace methods, every daily portion is just 16–20 rows long: 
enough to feel satisfying, but short enough to fit into an evening. If life gets busy, simply 
pick up the next day’s section whenever you’re ready—this project is designed to move at 
your pace. (Tip: it’s best to finish the row you’re on before putting your work down.)

The pattern includes both written instructions and charts, so you can follow whichever style suits you best. A glossary of abbreviations is on page 3, and each chart has its own symbol 
key to keep everything clear and beginner-friendly. A comprehensive Techniques section is included.

Originally created for the 2023 Folkestone Harbour Yarn Naturally Dyed Sock Yarn Advent 
Knit-A-Long, this scarf works beautifully in many yarns. And if 
you prefer a simpler look, it’s just as lovely knitted in a single solid colour.

This is lace knitting made achievable, relaxing, and full of discovery—one cosy evening at 
a time.

Skills needed are cast on, cast off, knit, purl, slipping stitches, decreases and increases, yarn overs, counting stitches, reading charts,
blocking.
Size: One size. 170Cm long by 28cm wide (after blocking).

Yarn: 700m of sock/fingering/4ply yarn with a length to weight ratio of  350m per 100g. I used our Kent Romney 4ply base in 'Hythe' Red,

A rainbow of 25 4ply/sock weight mini skeins in any colour combination you choose.

25 x 10g sock weight yarn mini skeins, each 10g = 42m length, so approx 1,050m. You will use approximately 2/3 of each mini skein, so this could be a good stash buster project.
