Walk With Pride Sock Knitting Pattern Digital Download 20% Donated to Stonewall UK
These socks celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community with 17 multi-sized and customisable hand knitting patterns which are each inspired by different Pride flags.
These socks can be worn by anyone identifying as or wishing to show support for the Queer community and allow the wearer to 'Walk With Pride' whilst celebrating diversity and inclusion.
20 percent of sales will be donated to Stonewall UK.
The 17 Pride Flags included in the pattern are Rainbow, Progress or Inclusive, Straight Ally, Lesbian, Bear, Agender, Transgender, Genderfluid, Aromantic, Non Binary, Unlabelled, Asexual, Bisexual, Pansexual, Polysexual, Genderqueer & Twink.
This pattern is for simple 'Vanilla' style socks that includes 4 adult sizes (Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large) and 2 heel options (short row and afterthought heel) plus a table which tells you how many rounds of each colour to knit per size in order to make your chosen Pride Flag pattern. Knitted ‘top-down’, these socks are cast on at the cuff, then worked in the round to the heel. The heel is formed by short rows, with a stripy afterthought heel for the 'Inclusive' (image 2) or 'Straight Ally' socks (image 4).
Afterthought heel yarn packs are available and can be added to any sock (see images 8 + 10). You then continue to knit down to the toe before binding off.
Instructions and charts are given to embroider or 'Duplicate Stitch/Swiss Darn' several motifs including a Bear paw, 'Twink' motif or a Rainbow heart (see image 9).
