Day 4:

Dye colour: Cochineal Hot Pink. Cochineal comes from a South American insect. I source mine from a sustainable farm in Gran Canaria as I can follow the farmers progress via social media.  

Knitting Pattern: Broken Acre. This staggered version of the Acre pattern makes a pretty centre for a scarf or garment and looks great in any weight yarn. Join today's yarn & follow the charted pattern for 18 rows.     

Row 53: RS. Sl 1, k2 tog, yo. Slip stitch marker, Knit to 3 before end, slip stitch marker, knit 3. Turn work (59 sts)    

Row 54 & all WS/ rows: Sl 1, k2 tog, yo. Slip stitch marker, purl 53, slip stitch marker, knit 3. Turn work (59 sts).  

Row 55: RS. Sl 1, k2 tog, yo. Slip stitch marker, K2. * k1, yo, ssk, k4, k2tog, yo, k1 *. Repeat from * to * 4 more times. K1, slip stitch marker, knit 3. Turn work (59 sts).  

Row 57, 59 & 61: RS rows. Repeat row 55.  

Row 63: RS. Sl 1, k2 tog, yo. Slip stitch marker, K2. * k2, k2tog, yo, k2, yo, ssk, k2 *. Repeat from * to * 4 more times. K1, slip stitch marker, knit 3. Turn work (59 sts).  

Rows 65, 67 & 69: RS rows. Repeat row 53.  

Row 70: WS. Sl 1, k2 tog, yo. Slip stitch marker, purl 53, slip stitch marker, knit 3. Turn work (59 sts).
